Contemporary Prekmurje dialect varies greatly from the one written by August Pavel in Slovenian Grammar of Prekmurje dialect. It has been testified by the work of previous centuries. It is about the view of the contemporary language condition in the area between Mura and Raba, according to the analysis of the attitude of speakers towards official Slovene and Prekmurje dialect, as well as some personal experience at creating literary texts in official Slovene and contemporary written language of Prekmurje. It presents the problem of non-standardization of the dialect. It causes many dilemmas at writing and editing dialect texts. This was seen in two literary works review. There is some insight into the condition of contemporary Prekmurje dialect through questionnaire results. It shows the attitude of speakers towards official Slovene and the dialect. The respondents claim, they use dialect most of the time in their everyday communication and they identify with official Slovene. In Porabje we can find a different situation. The number of Slovene language speakers decrease and its learning is limited to clubs at a national school. It is evident at a bilingual school Jožef Košič in Gornji Senik and at a social event of Slovenian Union in Hungary. There are many differences between the language of Porabje and contemporary Goričko subdialect. They refer to word order and vocabulary.
