Abstract

Title:Archival records of Yugoslav Catholic Academic Society »Danica« between the wars
Abstract:
Masters thesis examines archival records of Danica, a Slovenian Catholic student society, active between 1894 and 1941. Danica was founded by Slovenian Catholic students in Vienna in 1894. After the First World War and collapse of Austria-Hungary, society moved to Ljubljana, Slovenian capital within Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. There, Danica became a society for Catholic students of the newly-founded University of Ljubljana, and remained active until the Second World War. Drawing on fragmented archival records of Danica, which are preserved by Slovenian archival institutions, thesis attempts to reconstruct and analyze society's activities in the period between world wars, examining the condition and contents of preserved archival records in the process.
