Abstract
Diplomska naloga obravnava trenutno stanje železniškega voznega parka, ki vozi po slovenskih železniških progah. Predstavljen je vozni park nacionalnega operaterja Slovenske železnice (v nadaljevanju SŽ), vozni park drugih prevoznikov (RCC, Adria Transport, InRail itn.) pa ni podrobneje zajet. V drugem poglavju so opisane splošne lastnosti železniškega prometa, od tirne širine do sistemov napajanja za pogon, sledi opis ključnih lastnosti vlečnih vozil, tj. lokomotiv in motornikov, in opis lastnosti vlečenih sredstev – vagonov. Pod opisom potniških vagonov so navedene ključne lastnosti sodobnih potniških vagonov, omenjen pa je tudi avstrijski hitri vlak RailJet. V sklepu poglavja so predstavljeni nekateri ključni trendi, od hitrih vlakov, kratkega opisa sistema Maglev in opisa interoperabilnosti v Sloveniji. Tretje poglavje je namenjeno železniškemu prometu v Sloveniji: od začetka gradnje prog do kratkega opisa SŽ in njihove infrastrukture, do nekaj zapisov o zasebnih/tujih železniških prevoznikih, ki vozijo na slovenski javni železniški infrastrukturi (v nadaljevanju JŽI). Sledi ključni del, kjer je opisan trenutni vozni park SŽ, vse od lastnih do najetih voznih sredstev. Pred sklepom poglavja so na splošno navedena ključna dejstva o vozilih za posebne namene. V sklepu poglavja je prikazana primerjava povprečnih starosti voznega parka SŽ s povprečnimi starostmi voznega parka sosednjih železniških uprav ÖBB (Avstrija) in HŽ (Hrvaška). V četrtem poglavju so na grafih, ki prikazujejo povprečno starost voznih sredstev posamezne serije, predstavljena izhodišča za posodobitev voznega parka SŽ. Nato sledi kratka predstavitev stanja s posodobitvami, ki prihajajo na slovenske tire v prihodnjih letih. Pred koncem je nabor ukrepov, tako z infrastrukturnega vidika kot z vidika voznih sredstev. Podana je tudi primerjava povprečne starosti železniških vozil v Sloveniji z avstrijskim in hrvaškim voznim parkom.

Title:NEED AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR MODERNISATION OF THE ROLLING STOCK IN SLOVENIA
Abstract:
In my degree I'm dealing with current status of the railway rolling stock which is in use on slovenian railway network. The accent is on the rolling stock of national railway operator Slovenske železnice and how the updates with new railway vehicles will impact on the oportunities of railway transport service. In the second chapter there are written some basic informations about railway transport, railway gauge and is folowed by discussion about new trends of evolution in railway transport. Third chapter is dealing with railway transport in Slovenia, from the early begginings of the first railway line constructions in 1846 to the newest railway lines. There are also some facts about infrastructure and TEN-T railway corridors and other carriers which are takeing a part in stake of transporting goods across Slovenia, mainly to and from the slovenian port of Koper. At the main part of the chapter is presented every type of railway motor vehicles which are operating on railway lines, electrified an non-electrified lines. In the second part there are also facts about wagons passenger cars that are operating in Slovenia. In the last, fourth chapter we can found some basis for further updates of the rolling stock, as well average age of the vehicles is given in comparision to neighbouring countries such as Austria and Croatia. Last but not least, there are presented the latest updates which will came to Slovenia in the following years. There are also given some important measurements how to improve competitivness, efficiency and availability of the cargo and passenger railway transport in Slovenia.
