Prototip orodja za pretvorbo Oracle Reports poročil v JasperReports poročila

Diplomska naloga obravnava razvoj prototipne rešitve za pretvorbo poročil Oracle Reports v poročila JasperReports. S tem namenom najprej predstavimo strukturo poročil v obeh formatih. Na podlagi nekaj poročil izvedemo analizo in določimo najpogosteje uporabljene in najpomembnejše gradnike za poročila obeh vrst. Pri razvoju rešitve obravnavamo postopek branja starih in pisanja novih poročil. Osredotočimo se na natančno pretvorbo oblike poročila, delno pretvorimo tudi poizvedovalni del. Po izvedbi te rešitve primerjamo čas, porabljen za pretvorbo poročil, s časom, ki so ga potrebovali razvijalci za ročno pretvorbo. Čas je bistveno krajši, ker kakovostna pretvorba zahteva relativno malo ročnih posegov.

• Title: A prototype of a tool for Oracle Reports to JasperReports conversion

Abstract

This thesis presents the development of a prototype solution for converting Oracle Reports to JasperReports. The structure of both report formats is presented first. Based on a few reports, we perform an analysis and determine the most commonly used and the most important building blocks for the reports of both types. In developing the solution, we consider the process of reading old and writing new reports. Here, we focus on the detailed conversion of the report description while the SQL part is converted partially. After implementing this solution, we compare the time spent on converting reports with the time for manual conversion. Time is considerably reduced as good quality of translation demands a relatively small number of manual interventions only.
