This thesis presents the development of a prototype solution for converting Oracle Reports to JasperReports.
The structure of both report formats is presented first.
Based on a few reports, we perform an analysis and determine the most commonly used and the most important building blocks for the reports of both types.
In developing the solution, we consider the process of reading old and writing new reports.
Here, we focus on the detailed conversion of the report description while the SQL part is converted partially.
After implementing this solution, we compare the time spent on converting reports with the time for manual conversion.
Time is considerably reduced as good quality of translation demands a relatively small number of manual interventions only.
