Storing is an important activity as it enables the physical storage of materials or goods at a particular place. Its main function is to maintain and preserve the materials as well as perform quality and quantity control; furthermore, it can also add extra value to the materials, such as packaging, labelling, wrapping, palletizing, etc.
The paper deals with the warehouse operation in the central warehouse of the Avto Triglav company, which supplies the markets in Slovenia, Croatia as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina. The paper describes how the goods are unloaded, received, stored, commissioned and finally dispatched to customers. Furthermore, it also presents the warehouse working tools and information technology support used in warehouse operations. The possibilities of improving the existing warehouse operations are discussed.
