The graduation thesis discusses the issues of the usage of snowmobiles in forest land. The new technologies brought new leisure time activities in forest that could trigger conflicts and disputes. This is partially contributed by insufficient legislation and restricted inspection. The subject matter was addressed in different manners. We examined the history of snowmobile and its characteristics. The current scientific literature and print media was analyzed, so we highlighted the problem of snowmobile ride in our region. We tried to point out advantages and disadvantages of Slovene and foreign legislation by discussing them. The effects of snowmobiles in forest were examined. For an overall discussion of the matter we interviewed the forestry inspector. The conclusion is that Slovene legislation is dispersed and insufficient. Also the inspection over snowmobile riders is insufficient. One of the appropriate solutions for snowmobile use regulation we speak in favor of, is directing of snowmobile riders to purposely established areas, where snowmobile rides are allowed.
