Abstract
V nadaljevanju avtorica obravnava njihovo materialno zapuščino. Kot skupina gradov treh rodbinskih sedežev so bile najverjetneje zgrajene z namenom kolonizacije območja in nadzora severozahodne meje spanheimskega ljubljanskega gospostva. Prvotno sklenjeno teritorialno gospostvo, pripadajoče jeterbenškim utrdbam, se domneva na območju zaselkov Žlebe, Topol, Golo Brdo, Trnovec, Tehovec, Brezovica in Studenčice.

Title:The Castles of Jeterbenk / Hertenberg in the light of archaeological and historical sources
Abstract:
In this master thesis, the author researches already dilapidated castles of Jeterbenk above the hamlet of Žlebe near Medvode on the eastern edge of Polhov Gradec hills. The study is based on historical sources and the results of archaeological researches. In first part she focuses on local oral tradition, toponyms, history of family Jeterbenk and exposes datas important for better understanding the history of Jeterbenk castles. Afterwards the author focuses on their material heritage. From visibility analysis, topography study, written sources, architectural remains and archaeological finds she infers about the role and development of Turniče and castles on Kašča, Jeterbenk and Gradišče. Author concludes that castles on Kašča and Jeterbenk were built (at the latest) before the end of 12th century, whereas castle on Gradišče at the latest in the middle of 13th century and they were abandoned up to year 1344. As a castle group of three family seats they were probably built to colonize and to exercise control over the northwestern border of the Spanheim Ljubljana dominion. It is assumed that the original (enclosed) territorial dominion, which belonged to castles of Jeterbenk, at the beginning consisted of hamlets Žlebe, Topol, Golo Brdo, Trnovec, Tehovec, Brezovica and Studenčice.
