Abstract
V slovenščino sem prevedla devet sonetov Francesca Petrarke, in sicer 131, 134, 126, 128, 170, 221, 230, 300 ter 333. Te sonete sem izbrala, ker so mi bili vsebinsko všeč. Poskusila sem prevesti tudi nekaj drugih sonetov, a sem včasih zaradi zahtevnosti obupala.

Title:Comparison of metaphors in nine Petrarch's sonnets with their translations
Abstract:
I translated nine sonnets by Francesco Petrarca from Italian to Slovenian – it was sonnets 131, 134, 126, 128, 170, 221, 230, 300 e 333. I chose those because I liked their topics. I also tried to translate some other sonnets, but I gave up as the challenge was too difficult. All the sonnets I translated were translated before by Andrej Capuder, meanwhile 134, 216, 218, 230, 300 and 333 were also translated by Alojz Gradnik. The sonnet 134 was translated by Srečko Fišer as well. My aim was to compare the metaphors in the sonnets translated by me to those in the originals and in other translations. At the beginning of the thesis in described some different definitions of metaphore. Looking for metaphors in the sonnets, I was considering the definition stated by Lakoff, who claims a metafor everything expressed with expressions which are usually related to other conceptual fields. Regarding the latter definition, I also explained the metaphors in the charts. In order to define the methods of transtation of metaphors, I considered the theory of Peter Newmark, who usest he terms settled by Max Black and I. A. Richards.
