Reflection about youth is subject, which was discussed at the synod in Rome and therefore marked the Universal Church in last few years. This master’s thesis discusses this same topic. Although majority of Slovenian youth lives quite a leisure life due to a technological progress, researches indicate that they are dissatisfied with their life, they need more and more antidepressants and are struggling in searching the purpose of life. Thesis firstly discusses, what the Bible says of this state and of the consequences of original sin in the passage of creation. Secondly, it discusses Jesus's approach to Samaritan woman (Jn 4,1-41). This passage is thoroughly discussed through exegesis and character analysis. Finally, it discusses how can the Church help the youth. To find the answer it examines the term evangelisation. As a possible solution the thesis proposes spiritual guidance. It defines what exactly spiritual guidance is and what sort of help is such guidance able to provide. With constant reference to Jesus's approach to Samaritan woman thesis defines the role of spiritual director. It concludes with discussion on ideal every human, especially Christian, should strive.
