Abstract
V vsaki gredi so zasajene tri sadike istega klona bele vrbe.

Title:Efficiency of the evapotranspirative system for closing the nutrient loop of wastewater treatment
Abstract:
The prevailing methods of wastewater treatment do not take into account the closure of nutrient loops and water circuits, and wastewater is treated only as waste. Evapotranspirative system (ETS) is a system with closed nutrient loop and zero-emission, where all wastewater and rainwater is used for the growth of willow clones and evaporation into the atmosphere. Pilot ETS at Central Wastewater Treatment Plant Ajdovščina consists of nine beds, each 3 m long and 1 m wide; each bed is sealed with an impermeable membrane. Wastewater consumption and the impact on growth and biomass production were studied on three clones of white willow: autochthonous species Salix alba and hybrids S. alba L. × S. alba L. var. Calva GFW Mey, and (S. alba) and S. alba L. × S. alba var. vitellina (L.) Stokes. Wastewater was added in two vegetation periods, in the years 2016 and 2017. The positive effect of wastewater on clones is reflected in a larger number of shoots, higher growth, and thickness of the shoots compared to control plants. By monitoring the decrease in the water level in the beds we defined the wastewater consumption in the ETS and calculated the necessary area of the system, which is 144 m2 for a four-member household in a temperate climate zone. ETSs play an important role in reducing surface and groundwater pollution and with the production of biomass as a renewable energy source, also affecting economic development.
