Abstract
Vzgojno-izobraževalni sistem ima zagotovo eno ključnih vlog v procesu integracije migrantskih otrok v državi gostiteljici. Šola je med drugim tudi prostor, kjer se odvija proces socializacije. Država lahko z ustreznimi politikami in ukrepi na področju izobraževanja bistveno pripomore k uspešnejšemu vključevanju migrantskih otrok v šolski sistem in k njihovi hitrejši vsestranski integraciji v novo okolje. (Bešter, Medvešek, 2010). Za temo integracije in vključevanja otrok priseljencev v osnovno šolo, sem se odločila, ker je tematika priseljencev v Sloveniji vedno aktualna, in čeprav so si pristojni prizadevali izboljšati integracijo otrok priseljencev v izobraževalnem procesu, lahko rečemo, da se stvari niso spremenile na bolje. Kot študentko, ki se je preselila v Slovenijo, in kot pripadnico etnične manjšine me zelo zanima proces integracije priseljencev, posebej integracija učencev v novo okolje, saj se v izobraževalnem procesu pogosto srečajo s stigmatiziranjem in diskriminacijo. Namen in cilj moje raziskave sta prikazati, kakšno je dejansko stanje med učenci priseljenci v šoli, in način, kako so na področju integracije in vključevanja učencev v novo okolje ravnali v času prihoda bosanskih beguncev v Slovenijo. Zanimalo me je, kako šola dejansko lahko izboljša celotno situacijo in poskrbi za boljšo klimo za učence priseljence v šoli. Predvsem so me zanimala mnenja zaposlenih v šoli, njihove dosedanje izkušnje in razmisleki ter mnenja o tej problematiki, kako je bilo v začetku devetdesetih let prejšnjega stoletja, kakšno je trenutno stanje na področju integracije in vključevanja otrok priseljencev v šolo, kaj zaposleni mislijo o tem, kako bi lahko stanje na tem področju izboljšale.

Title:Social integration of migrant children in elementary school
Abstract:
The educational system plays a key role in the integration process of migrant children in the host country. The school is the place where socialization takes place. Through appropriate policies and measures in the field of education, the state can significally contribute to the successful integration. I chose this topic of integration of immigrant children in Slovenia in school, because it is always present and although much has been done to improve the integration many things still have not changed for better. As a foreign student who also came to Slovenia, I am very interested into process of integration, especially immigrant students who face stigma and discrimination in the educational process. As a volunteer at daily care center for immigrant students, I noticed that a lot of them were not satisfied with school, how they are treated, they had problems integrating in a new environment. The purpose of my research is to show actual situation of migrant students in school, I am interested in the opinions of employees at the school, their experience and reflections so far, as well as their opinion on the situation, how it used to be before and how is the current situation, what they think about how things could be improved.
