Abstract
The technology has spread to various fields, including the field of edu-cation. In this area, questions arise as to how to combine informationand communication technology (ICT) for learning and teaching pur-poses, with innovative teaching methods. For the purpose of informinghigher education teachers about innovative teaching methods that sup-port the use of ICT in the pedagogical process, different online courseswere prepared at University in Ljubljana within the project "DigitalUL - With Innovative Use of ICT to Excellence". This paper presentsfindings from the evaluation of an online course entitled Didactic use ofICT in the process of teaching and learning, that has been administeredto 55 higher education teachers of the University of Ljubljana in twoimplementations during Spring 2019. The data was collected with aquestionnaire, followed by the analysis of the teachers ‘reports of rede-fined study activities that the participants developed at the end of thecourse. The results suggest that higher education teachers found theadded value of the course, however it was especially emphasized thatthey gained new experiences for the work with the use of ICT, newideas in the field of innovative teaching supported with ICT, as wellas the new knowledge in the field of innovative teaching. Regardingthe criteria for selecting the specific ICT in support of the pedagog-ical process, it was found that teachers were prone to choosing theICT that enabled them to support the development of students’ higherlevels of thinking according to Bloom’s taxonomy. It was also foundthat with the online course the teachers were encouraged to redefinetheir study activities on different SAMR (Substitution, Augmentation,Modification, Redefinition) levels, mostly on the modification and re-definition levels. It can be concluded, that the online course Didacticuse of ICT in the process of teaching and learning encouraged the ma-jority of the involved higher education teachers to plan the didactic useof ICT with the aim of achieving development of the higher cognitiveprocesses among students. Based on the course evaluation its furtheroptimization is foreseen.
