Happiness is important, for some people even the main value in their life. I can not imagine my life without happiness anymore. It is hard to measure our wellbeing, because in most circumstances there is subjective exposure instead of objective. We can feel it in present moment, but in most cases it is linked with majority of other values, such as gender, age, health, education, employment,… Individual values are becoming even more important then social or organisational ones. Goal in this diploma is to define values and to compare definitions of different authors, to explore the happiness and see, what has the biggest influence on it. Main focus will be mostly on gender, age, social capital, state of health, income and level of education. This theme in this content is quite wide ranged, that is why I am going to focus on comparisson betwen two countries, Slovenia and The Netherlands. I will use data from European Social Survey. I want to compare two cultural, economical and geographically different countries and to see, where are the main differences and similarities and what has the most influence on that.
