Abstract
Prekarno delo v svetu pod pritiskom globalnih trendov neoliberalnih politik in fleksibilizacije dela dobiva vedno večje razsežnosti. Ljudje so v vedno večjem številu potisnjeni v eksistenco znotraj družbe, v kateri so dnevno soočeni z vedno večjo negotovostjo svoje zaposlitve ter vedno nižjimi socioekonomskimi standardi zaposlitev.

Title:Precariat, crisis of democracy, neoliberalism
Abstract:
Precarious work in the world is under pressure by the global trends of neoliberal policies and flexibilization of work and, as such, is gaining bigger dimensions. More and more people are pushed into precarious existence inside of the society in which they are faced with increasing insecurity about their employment and lower and lower socioeconomic standards of their employment. Thus, they have to face always increasing pressure and fear of falling to the bottom of society. Thus, they are pushed into precarious existence and are becoming an always increasing part of what we call the precariat. At the same time, we can observe trends in falling democratic standards, not only on the so-called outskirts of the world but ever more so in the countries which were once regarded as the bearers of democratic values. The growth of populism, the reduction of the freedom of the press and, above all, the ubiquitous apathy towards the system on the one hand and anger on the other. In my thesis, I try to show how the growth of the precariat is increasing the crisis of democracy and partly fueling it. In the last part, I, then, on the basis of the previously displayed, start to show the state of the precariat and the increasing thinning of the democracy in Slovenia.
