Substantivation of adjectives is a process, when an adjective converts into a noun and becomes a substantive adjective. The adjective can convert into a noun from definite or indefinite form. Adjectives, converting from definite form, keep the adjective declension and are more common. Less common are adjectives, which convert into a noun from indefinite form – in that case, we decline them as nouns (we use 1. declension of nouns). In my dissertation, I will classify substantive adjectives in two groups: the substantivation of common nouns and the substantivation of proper names. I will classify the examples in subgroups and I will try to find out, if the substantivation of adjectives is alive in Slovene language.
