Abstract

Title:Sport climbing for children and games on a climbing wall
Abstract:
Sport climbing is one of the possible ways of developing children's motor skills. Principally, the practice of sport climbing can positively affect arm, shoulder girdle and torso strength, coordination, precision and flexibility of the torso, hip joint and shoulder girdle. Other beneficial effects of sport climbing can be seen in social development of children. By building new, especially low height, climbing walls in sports halls and modern climbing centres intended for bouldering and lead climbing, the conditions for training have significantly improved. Thus, they are an excellent starting point for including sport climbing into lessons of physical education (sports). The main purpose of the master's thesis is to present teaching models and elementary games as well as to describe games with climbing content on a bouldering or tall climbing wall in greater detail. The games are useful for teaching in education process and in the process of training as a means of introducing the basic information or a means of preparation of junior teams for competitions. The document consists of a vast number of elementary and climbing games which can be used by sports teachers and coaches to plan and conduct practice sessions effectively. The first part of the thesis encompasses the history, types and competition disciplines of sport climbing, the technique of sport climbing and natural forms of movement, teaching models and motor skills. It can help sports teachers and coaches in their process of preparing for the practice sessions and understand sport climbing holistically. Climbing games in each individual part of practice session are grouped by purpose. In addition, some other teaching models - obstacle courses, circuit training exercises etc. are described. Each example of a game includes a description, purpose, images and detailed instructions on how to carry out the activity.
