Engagement in the workplace is one of the key factors contributing to the quality work of employees. The engagement of employees can be controlled and influenced only if we know which the key components are and if we are able to measure them. The aim of the diploma thesis is to determine what survey methodological challenges we face while measuring engagement of employees. In the first part of the diploma thesis, therefore, I reviewed the literature in the field of survey methodology and on this basis structured the errors that may arise. I also reviewed the literature on engagement with a particular focus on measuring it. In the empirical part, I conducted an engagement survey in a selected organization. It turned out that the main methodological problem was the lack of cooperation in the survey, while the other aspects were not problematic. Analysing the results of measuring engagement in the organization showed high correlation between the levels of engagement and satisfaction of employees.
