Abstract

The following diploma thesis discusses the Grimm fairy tales, their reception and acceptance of the Slavic countries and languages. It also focuses on the similarities and differences the stories have in the various Southern Slavic countries. Moreover, it explains their function and popularity in their origin country – in Germany.
