Abstract

Title:Ideas for integrating Sport4Peace project into sports activities of preschoolers
Abstract:
In the diploma paper we present concepts and different ways on how to achieve the goals in the »movement« area of the curriculum. The kindergarten curriculum is process- and development-oriented, which means that in the preparation the educator follows the developmental stage of the child, in doing so, the educator may choose different concepts and approaches. One of the less known concepts in the Slovenian educational area is Sports4Peace. The basis of this concept is set in a »golden rule« that reads »do to others what you want others do to you.« This motto can be found and similarly expressed in all cultures and world religions. Sports4Peace rules do not interfere with specific rules of the sport, movement or game, but rather emphasize the inner attitude of each participant. The way how to work within the Sports4Peace concept is explained in the paper. The diploma paper is monographic. We used a descriptive method of pedagogical research. The DiKUL browser and our own experience helped us with our search, literature review and writing. We explored the benefits that were researched in using the Sports4Peace project, and those we noticed from our own experience working in a kindergarten where this concept is already being used. Participants in the program demonstrated improvements, such as politeness toward the opponent, concern for injured player and respect for the referee even when his judgment was wrong. It has been recognized that sports can contribute to the development of personality and even to building of a better world, and it can also be a solution to many problems in everyday life.
