Oblikovanje celostne grafične podobe tarot kart

Diplomsko delo zajema področje oblikovanja celostne grafične podobe, in sicer sem se odločila za oblikovanje celostne grafične podobe tarot kart. V likovnoteoretičnem delu predstavim postopek snovanja celostne grafične podobe ter poglobljeno psihološko raziskujem tematiko in sestavo tarot kart. Na kratko predstavim zgodovino tarot kart, poglavitne lastnosti tarota in sestavo ter vlogo uporabe kart. Sledi analiza trga tarot kart, in sicer predstavim tradicionalni Rider-Waitov tarot ter druge sodobne komplete za tarot, kot so Luminous Spirit Tarot, Golden Thread Tarot, Marigold Tarot, True Black Tarot in Melthelm Abstract Tarot. Koncept diplomskega dela temelji tudi na razumevanju simbolike tarot kart in arhetipov, ki se pojavljajo v vsakodnevnem življenju. Povezavo med tem raziskujem oziroma nakažem skozi razumevanje kolektivnega arhetipskega nezavednega, katerega utemeljitelj je psihoanalitik C. G. Jung. Skozi pogled jungovske psihoanalitičarke Clarisse Pinkole Estes tudi na kratko predstavim arhetip divje ženske. V praktičnem delu opišem proces lastnega ustvarjanja kart in celostne grafične podobe kompleta.

• Title: Comprehensive graphic design of tarot cards

Abstract

The concept of the diploma thesis is based on creating an overall graphic design of tarot cards. In the theoretical part, I show the basis of creating an overall graphic design and I dig deeply into the research of the psychology of tarot. I introduce a short history of tarot cards, their basic characteristics and usage. I also analyse tarot cards market and introduce the following decks: The Rider-Waite Tarot (traditional), The Luminous Spirit Tarot, The Golden Thread Tarot, The Marigold Tarot, The True Black Tarot and the Melthelm Abstract Tarot (contemporary). The concept of the diploma also lies in understanding the symbolism and archetypes that appear in tarot cards and our everyday lives. I enjoy exploring the link between the symbolism and the archetypical unconscious with an emphasis on the research of the psychoanalytic C. G. Jung. I also present the Wild Woman archetype through the eyes of Clarissa Pinkola Estes, also a Jungian psychoanalyst. In the practical part of my thesis, I present the process of creating my tarot cards deck and its overall graphic imagery.
