Abstract
Največji prihranek na obstoječem objektu naredimo z boljšo izolativnostjo ovoja stanovanjskega objekta in z menjavo dotrajanih oken. Novogradnja pa je temu že primerno zasnovana.

Title:Overview of factors that impact energy consumption in residential buildings
Abstract:
Every household has to pay many bills each month. This is a fact that young people are not aware of while living with parents. However, when we gain independence and look for our own accommodation unit (apartment, house) we start paying more attention to the level of all costs. As energy represents the highest cost, I focused on searching the factors for such high energy consumption. I sought key elements in a residential building that need energy to function. Then I investigated what affects the amount of energy used. I discovered that the most energy is used for heating of residential building and sanitary water. The biggest savings on an existing building are made with better insulation of the building envelope and replacement of deteriorated windows. Newly-constructed buildings are already designed appropriately.
