Otroštvo med drugo svetovno vojno na območju nekdanje Jugoslavije: vprašanje travm in junaštva

Otroci so zanimiva tema, saj so med vojno postavljeni v okolje in razmere, v katerih se otroci nikdar nebi smeli znajti in jim seveda niso prilagojeni. Ker se pa vsi rajši osredotočajo na njihov pogum in ne na travme, ki so jih med vojno doživeli, sem se nanje želela osredotočiti jaz. Zanimalo me je, kako se otroci soočajo z nasilnostjo vojne, z ločitvijo od staršev ter z najbolj surovimi pogoji za preživetje. Zanimale so me pripovedi otrok; iz njih sem želela izluščiti, kako močno so izkušnje iz vojne vplivale na njihovo nadaljnje življenje. Nekaj pozornosti sem namenila tudi pionirskim organizacijam, ki so bile predvsem sredstvo, s katerim so otroke zaposlili, zraven pa so jih izkoristili tudi za boj proti okupatorju. V njih so želeli spodbuditi nekakšna junaška nagnjenja in jih spodbujati k aktivnemu sodelovanju v vojni. Opravila sem tudi intervjuje z nekaj prebivalci zgornjega Posočja, ki so bili med vojno otroci.

• Title: Childhood during World war II in the former Yugoslavia:The issue of trauma and heroism

Abstract

Children are an interesting topic because during the war they are put in an environment that they should never be put into. They are also exposed to horrible conditions that they are not adjusted to. Because everybody prefers to focus on children's heroism rather than on the traumas that they experience, I decided to focus on those. I was interested in how are children facing the violence of the war, separation from their parents and the harsh living conditions. I was interested in the then children's stories and I wanted to use them to get some information about how did those experiences influence their further lives. I have also paid some attention to various pioneer organizations that were mostly a tool used to keep the children busy and also a way to utilize them in their fight against the invaders. They wanted to encourage the children's heroic tendencies and encourage them to actively participate in the war. I have also made some interviews with two residents of the upper Soča valley, who were children during the World War II.
