Abstract
V ta namen je pregledanih štiriindvajset slovenskih leposlovnih del sedemnajstih pisateljev in pisateljice (Murnik, Šorli, Jaklič, Pregelj, Cankar, Maselj - Podlimbarski, Kociper, Trdina, V. Levstik, Alešovec, Malovrh, Milčinski, Cundrič, Tavčar, Rozman, Fatur, Aškerc in eno anonimno delo).

Title:The motive of antichrist in slovenian literature
Abstract:
The motif of the Antichrist appears in Slovene literature in the 19th and 20th century which is logical because people in Slovenian villages avoided his image and his doings. The Antichrist is the devil, the fraud, the liar and the heretic who wasn't welcome in Catholic villages even though they knew his arrival was possible. The addressed works present the meaning of the Antichrist in a certain time period which can go back to the Protestantism, meaning the period of the Reformation and Counter-Reformation. Sometimes, it is important whether the writer is a believer or not, what they do for a living and what type of literature they write. For this purpose, 24 Slovenian works were analysed. These works were written by 18 writers (Murnik, Šorli, Jaklič, Pregelj, Cankar, Maselj - Podlimbarski, Kociper, Trdina, V. Levstik, Alešovec, Malovrh, Milčinski, Cundrič, Tavčar, Rozman, Fatur, Aškerc and one anonymous work). The thesis includes the quotations indicating the image and the motif of the Antichrist, the presentation of the Bible and the research relating to him. It also shows that the image of the Antichrist is usually negative and that the authors approach the biblical motif of the Antichrist, him being the cause of many accidents and problems. Certain works stand out but still more or less match the above definition. The purpose of this thesis is to show the metaphorical image of the Antichrist (as a curse word...) or the real image, the person who will fight Jesus during the apocalypse. It all depends on the period in which the works were written, or on their writers.
