The subject of the graduation thesis is preparation and implementation of the smart house project, based on KNX system (standarized building control protocol).
As part of the smart house project the following areas have been programmed: lighting, blinds and heating/cooling. While security system and remote access has been done in a collaboration with other company.
The whole project described is roughly divided into two parts, namely office preparation and field implementation.
When preparing in the office, the floor plans had been done first, and a project was build from these in ETS5 (a program in which KNX elements are configured, linked and programmed). So all the connections between switches, lights, valves and blinds had been done in the program. Then the physical address information was uploaded to each actuator and other KNX elements, and the boxes were marked to installers where to mount.
Finally, two more expeditions to the house where the program was uploaded into the system followed, and the operation was checked and little errors immediately fixed.
The client looked at the latest details and approved the project.
