The diploma thesis presents a system for managing drinking and waste water pumping stations, requirements which we need to take into consideration with these systems, and problems encountered. Described and explained are stages of developing, managing, controlling, capturing, storing and transmitting data on these systems.
In the introductory part, system and its units are described. Then, a programmable logic controller which was used on the facilities is described, together with actuators and the rest of controlling equipment needed for the system in order for it to function properly. In addition to the program that is carried out on a programmable logic controller is described, together with its structure and main requirements which we need to take into account.
The control system for managing drinking and waste water pumping stations is described, together with user interface, alarming, recording of history and other necessary functions, which are used in order for the system to run properly and enable undisturbed managing.
The final part of the diploma thesis presents the communication used on the system, strengths and weaknesses of various communication protocols settings of hardware required in order to securely send and receive data. Possible modifications for greater efficiency and quality of drinking and waste water system are presented.
The aim of the diploma thesis was to upgrade the existing drinking and waste water system, both at the level of program logic of the programmable logic controller as well as on display, processing and sending data to the central control system. In addition, new facilities were added to the system
