Diskriminacijska veljavnost Medio-lateralnega testa korakanja za padce pri stanovalcih doma starejših občanov : diplomsko delo

Uvod: Med osebami, starimi 65 let ali več, so padci glavni vzrok smrti zaradi poškodb. Nastanejo zaradi neusklajenosti med fiziološkimi funkcijami, okoljskimi zahtevami in vedenjem posameznikov Namen: Preveriti diskriminacijsko veljavnost Medio-lateralnega testa stopanja za padce pri stanovalcih doma starejših občanov. Metode dela: V raziskavi je sodelovalo 31 preiskovancev, ki so bili funkcijsko samostojni, z in brez izkušenj padcev. Opravili so test stopanja v medio-lateralni smeri, v sedečem in stoječem položaju. Pridobljene podatke smo statistično obdelali. Rezultati: Tisti, ki so padli v preteklem letu, so imeli bistveno slabši rezultat kot tisti, ki niso. Analiza ROC krivulje je pokazala zadovoljivo do dobro veljavnost Medio-lateralnega testa korakanja za napovedovanje padcev pri starejših odraslih. Razprava in zaključek: Na podlagi dobljenih rezultatov in analizi ROC krivulje sklepamo, da bi Medio-lateralni test korakanja bil uporaben kot napovedovalec padcev. Test nam lahko pomaga pri prepoznavanju ogroženosti za padce pri starejših odraslih, ki živijo v domovih za starejše občane. Potrebne so nadaljnje raziskave za ugotavljanje drugih merskih lastnosti testa, kot sta recimo napovedna veljavnost in zanesljivost.

• Title: Discriminatory validity of the Medio-lateral step test execution for falls at the nursing home residents : diploma work

Abstract

Introduction: Among people, aged 65 years or more, falls are the main cause of death due to injuries. They occur because of the mismatch between the physiological function, environmental requirements and one's behaviour. Purpose: Test the discriminatory validity of the Medio-lateral step test for falls among the residents of a nursing home. Methods of work: 31 subjects, who were functionally independent, with and without the experience of a fall, took part in the research. They did the step test in the mediolateral direction, in a sitting and standing position. The acquired data was statistically processed. Results: Those who have fallen in the past year had a significantly worse result than those that haven't. The analysis of the ROC curve showed a satisfying to good validity of the Medio-lateral step test for falls among the residents of a nursing home. Discussion and conclusion: On the basis of the acquired data and the analysis of the ROC curve we conclude that the Medio-lateral step test would be useful as a predictor of falls. The test can help us to identify the risk of falls in older adults living in nursing homes. Further research is needed to determine other measurement properties of the test, such as predictive validity and reliability.
