Abstract
Diplomsko delo opisuje nadgradnjo krmilnega sistema na sekalniku lesne biomase. V uvodnem delu sem predstavil pripravo lesne biomase v Termoelektrarni-toplarni Ljubljana. Opisal sem ključne naprave, ki poleg sekalnika lesne biomase sodelujejo pri postopku. Opisano je prvotno stanje sekalnika lesne biomase in komponent, ki sodelujejo pri krmiljenju naprave. Podani so tudi ključni razlogi, zaradi katerih sem se lotil projekta. V osrednjem delu naloge sem opisal nov programirljivi logični krmilnik in razloge, zaradi katerih sem se odločil za ta tip krmilnika. Del projekta je bila tudi izdelava krmilnega programa za sekalnik lesne biomase. Krmilni program sem opisal s pomočjo podprogramov, ki skrbijo za krmiljenje posameznih komponent. Opisal sem tudi, kako upravljamo z napravo in kako programirljivi logični krmilnik deluje med obratovanjem. V zaključku naloge sem opisal rezultate projekta in delovanje sekalnika lesne biomase po menjavi krmilnika. Opisane so glavne prednosti novega programirljivega logičnega krmilnika v primerjavi s starim.

Title:Upgrade of a control system of a wood biomass grinder
Abstract:
The diploma describes the upgrade of a control system on a wood biomass grinder. In the introductory part, I presented the preparation of wood biomass at the Termoelektrarna-toplarna Ljubljana. I have described the key devices that are used to prepare the wood biomass for the biomass grinder. The initial condition of the wood biomass grinder before the upgrade and the components involved in controlling the device are described. Key reasons for starting this project are also given. In the central part of the work, I described a new programmable logic controller and the reasons why I decided for this type of a controller. Part of the project was also the development of a control program for a wood biomass grinder. I described the control program through parts of the program that take care of controlling the individual components. I also described how we operate the device and how the programmable logic controller works during the technological process. In the final part, I described the project results and the operation of the wood biomass grinder after changing the controller. The main advantages of the new programmable logic controller compared to the old one are described.
