Abstract

Title:The impact of Free Trade Agreements TTIP and CETA on food safety in Slovenia
Abstract:
Free Trade Agreements like TTIP and CETA have been lately arising, due to the fact that more and more countries are deciding for conclusion of bilateral agreements, which among reducing the custom duties and dues, also reduce non-tariff barriers in hope for a more flow trade even at a cost of public benefits. My focusing area in this thesis writing is regulatory cooperation considering food industry and food security. Regulations considering standards in this area would ease the trade and reduce trade and administration costs, but the problem appears, when such regulations endanger legislations meant for public health and environment security. More and more publicly discussed concerns are regarding the fear of abusing the regulatory cooperation for deregulation and initiation of lower standards. Complications are even more increased if the Parties possess different approaches, when it comes to scientific researches or act preparations concerning production and food processing or the chemicals used in the process, which means that compromising is even harder.
