Načrtovanje ekološke embalaže za prenašanje sadja in zelenjave

Abstract
V diplomskem delu je opisan razvoj ekološke embalaže za sadje in zelenjavo iz okolju prijaznih materialov, ki bi lahko nadomestila plastične vrečke, izdelane iz neobnovljivih virov, ki se trenutno največkrat uporabljajo v trgovini. V teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela so na kratko predstavljeni razvrščanje embalaže, vplivi embalaže na okolje ter prednosti ekološkega oblikovanja in ekoloških materialov. Predstavljeni so nekateri primeri ekoloških embalaž za pakiranje in prenašanje sadja in zelenjave. V praktičnem delu so predstavljeni meritve lastnosti dveh visokogramskih papirjev in prototip embalaže. Na papirjih so bile določene osnovne lastnosti (gramatura, debelina, gostota in vsebnost vlage), strukturne lastnosti (kapilarna vpojnost in omočljivost) in mehanske lastnosti (razpočna odpornost, natezne lastnosti, prebojna trdnost in raztržna odpornost). Na podlagi rezultatov meritev je bil za izdelavo embalaže za prenašanje sadja in zelenjave izbran vzorec V1, to je recikliran papir z gramaturo 160 g/m². Oba papirja imata primerne mehanske lastnosti, vzorec V1 pa izkazuje manjšo omočljivost. Načrtovanje in oblikovanje embalaže je potekalo v programu Adobe Illustrator, v katerem smo izrisali obliko in plašč embalaže. Na podlagi raziskave materialov in idejne zasnove za obliko embalaže smo nato izdelali prototip embalaže za prenašanje sadja in zelenjave, ob tem pa smo se ravnali po načelih ekološkega oblikovanja. Končna embalaža je priročna, primerna za prenos ter narejena iz okolju prijaznih materialov.

Title:Designing of sustainable packaging for fruits and vegetables transportation
Abstract:
This diploma thesis covers the development of sustainable packaging for fruits and vegetables made out of eco-friendly materials, which could replace traditional plastic bags, made out of unrenewable resources, currently used in shops and malls. The theoretical part of the paper covers sorting of packaging, the impact of packaging on the environment, the pros of sustainable packaging and sustainable materials and also various examples of sustainable packaging for fruits and vegetables. The practical part covers tests conducted on two types of paper used to determine their basic, structural and mechanical properties. The results have shown that sample V₁ recycled paper with 160 g/m² grammage is best suited for our purposes. Both types of paper have suitable mechanical properties, V₁ however, also exhibits better wetness resistance. The design work was done with Adobe Illustrator, in which we created the shape, size and template of the packaging. Based on the material research and original idea we designed a prototype packaging for fruits and vegetables following the guidelines of ecological design. The final packaging is compact, suitable for transport and eco-friendly.
