Abstract
Finančni in zavarovalniški trg je z namenom obvladovanja tveganj vlagateljev močno reguliran. V začetku leta 2022 v veljavo stopi nova direktiva, imenovana IFRS 17, ki predvideva izčrpno poročanje o posameznih finančnih instrumentih. S tehničnega vidika to pomeni shranjevanje in obdelavo ogromne količine podatkov tipa časovnih vrst. Poiskati je treba učinkovito in cenovno ugodno rešitev za reševanje omenjenega problema. V tem delu glede na različne kriterije primerjamo eno relacijsko in štiri nerelacijske podatkovne baze, ki ustrezajo naravi problema. Za najbolj obetavno se izkaže implementacija TimescaleDB, ki se jo da enostavno namestiti kot razširitev baze PostgreSQL. Izkaže se kot izjemno zanesljiva in učinkovita rešitev za poizvedovanje nad ogromnimi časovnimi vrstami, hkrati pa jo je moč porazdeliti med več strežnikov in zagotoviti hitro poizvedovanje.

Title:Efficient reports' compilation in the insurance industry using NoSQL
Abstract:
The financial and insurance sector is heavily regulated. A new directive, called IFRS 17, is going to be issued in the beginning of year 2022. The directive requires comprehensive reporting about individual financial instruments from financial institutions. From a technical point of view, it means storing and processing huge amounts of time series data. An effective and affordable solutions are required to address the problem. In this thesis, we compare one relational and four NoSQL databases. The databases are compared according to different criteria that correspond to the nature of the problem. The implementation of TimescaleDB proves to be an extremely reliable and effective solution for querying over huge time series. It can also be distributed across multiple servers and provides fast querying.
