Abstract
Diplomsko delo predstavlja moje delo na projektu CALMS, ki je specializiran projekt odkrivanja puščanj, sanacije puščanj in zagotavlja boljše kakovosti sistemov za komprimiran zrak. Moja naloga je bila ugotavljanje karakteristike novega ultrazvočnega senzorja. Poleg tega sem tudi raziskal kvantifikacijo puščanja, kako iz odčitkov jakosti zvoka ultrazvočnih merilnikov preračunati pretok puščanja zraka. V teoretičnem delu je opisana osnova rabe komprimiranega zraka, teorija puščanja, projekt CALMS in nekaj ultrazvočnih instrumentov. V praktičnem delu je na začetku opisan postopek izdelave naprave za simulacijo puščanja, s katero se je nato izvajalo preskuse za ugotavljanje lastnosti senzorjev. Sledi del preskusov in analize podatkov zbranih iz meritev. Za analizo in ugotavljanje kvantifikacije puščanja se je izdelal program, ki je v okolju Matlab generiral kalkulacijske tabele, ki so na podlagi znanega tlak in odčitkov ultrazvočnih senzorjev izračunali oceno pretoka zraka. V zadnjem delu, je opisano terensko preskušanje senzorja. Poleg tega se je na terenu naredila primerjava med ultrazvočnim senzorjem UE15000 in novostjo na trgu detekcije puščanja ultrazvočno akustično kamero NL Camera .

Title:Ultrasound device characterisation and compressed air leakage quantification
Abstract:
This diploma presents my work on CALMS project, which is specialized platform for leak detection, repair and improvement in compressed air system quality. My task was to find the characteristics of new ultrasound sensor. Beside that, I was also looking into leak quantification and how to calculate leak flow using ultrasound instruments readings and compressed air system pressure. In theoretical part of diploma there are basic informations of compressed air usage, leak theory, CALMS project and description of some ultrasound instruments. In the first section of practical part there is description of making of the leak simulation device, with which all the tests were made. In the second part tests and data collection are described. Program was made in MATLAB environment for purpose of analysis of collected data and generation of calculation table. Program calculates approximation of leak flow using sound pressure level and system pressure level. Lastly, I made on site testing with ultrasound instrument. Beside that, I made practical comparison between ultrasound instrument UE15000 and NL camera. NL camera is ultrasound acoustic camera that is new technology on leak detection market.
