Abstract
V diplomskem delu opisujemo postopek sinteze planarnih borovih struktur, poznanih pod imenom borofeni.

Title:Synthesis and electrochemical characterization of borophenes
Abstract:
Present thesis is describing the synthesis of boron planar structures, also known as borophenes. In the first part of our thesis we are trying to optimize the synthesis of boron from Lithium-Boron (Li-B) alloys and isolation of layered boron; borophene. Second part of the thesis is focusing on electrochemical characterization of newly synthesized borophenes through the use of cyclic voltammetry and measurements of specific electrical resistance. Using scanning electron microscope we proved that the synthesized sample was layered and had properties of a 2D material. Cyclic voltammetry has shown that our sample catalytically responds to oxygen reduction reaction in acidic electrolyte. Measuring the specific resistance of our sample resulted in quite high resistance, however the resistance is projected to fall with increasing temperature; same as for crystalline boron.
