Abstract
Diplomsko delo opisuje poskus sinteze različnih estrskih derivatov piruvične kisline in njenega analoga bromopiruvične kisline kot tudi poskus sinteze same bromopiruvične kisline. Uspešno sem uspel pretvoriti piruvično kislino v njen cikloheksilni ester, mlečno kislino pa v metil laktat. Bromiranje alilnega in propargilnega estra piruvične kisline (ki sem ju uspel pripraviti z le nizkim izkoristkom) v 2,3-dibromopropil piruvat in 2,2,3,3-tetrabromopropil piruvat je sicer delno poteklo, vendar rezultati niso izpolnili pričakovanj, saj so bili izkoristki slabi ali pa ni bilo mogoče določiti, ali je željeni produkt sploh nastal. Vse reakcije so bile delno ali v celoti izvedene skladno z objavljenimi postopki v literaturi, končne in vmesne produkte pa smo analizirali in ovrednotili s pomočjo 1H NMR spektroskopije, IR spektroskopije in HRMS.

Title:Preparation of some ester derivatives of pyruvic and bromopyruvic acid
Abstract:
This diploma thesis describes attempts to prepare some of ester derivatives of pyruvic acid and its analogue, bromopyruvic acid, as well as an attempt to synthesize bromopyruvic acid itself. Transformations of pyruvic acid into its cyclohexyl ester and lactic acid into methyl lactate were successful. Bromination of allyl and propargyl esters of pyruvic acid (prepared successfully, albeit in a low yield only) that should provide 2,3-dibromopropyl pyruvate and 2,2,3,3-tetrabromopropyl pyruvate, on the other hand, took place only partially and the results were somewhat below those expected, as the yields were low or the products identities could not be unequivocally confirmed. All reactions were performed completely or partially according to the procedures published in the literature. Final and intermediate products were characterised using 1H NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, and HRMS.
