Abstract
To smo ugotavljali s pomočjo dveh 3D skenerjev, Sense in HP 3D Structured Light Scanner PRO S2.

Title:Analysis of methods for 3D capturing
Abstract:
In the Diploma Thesis, we were interested which method for 3D capturing is best suited for the average user – in terms of price, quality, and possibility of further use of acquired models. We were also interested in the capture and export settings, and which ones are best suited to each capture method. We used two 3D scanners, Sense and HP 3D Structured Light Scanner PRO S2. Both of them capture models using triangulation, the difference being the first uses a laser and the second structured light. We also used two programs that use photogrammetry, namely SCANN3D, a mobile application, and Autodesk Recap Photo, a computer program. To keep the results average-user-friendly, we used a mobile phone to capture photographs to use in photogrammetry, and daylight and phone light as the light source, except when working with HP 3D Structured Light Scanner PRO S2, which has its own light source. In the end, we compared the models using two computer programs, those being Blender and Autodesk ReCap Photo. The goal of the Diploma Thesis is to help average users when choosing a 3D capture method. The objectives are to find out: • which settings are best used with each method of 3D capture, • which method of 3D capture yields the best results in correlation with the price of scanners and/or software, • which method of 3D capture is the best, considering the possibility of further use of the acquired models (modelling, use in computer graphics or printing).
