Abstract

Title:Optimization of sandblasting and washing process parameters of casting parts for maximum adhesion bond of silicone
Abstract:
Master's thesis deals with the optimization of sandblasting and washing processes, after which the problem of bad allert of the surface for maximum adhesion of silicone, with pull-off tests, occurs. Poor adhesion is noticable due to inadequate surface roughness and surface cleanliness. Using the method of Statisical Process Control (SPC), the existing sandblasting process was monitored and the stability and ability of the process were determined based on the results of surface roughness. Based on the obtained results, the optimal sandblasting paramaters were determined, using the Design of Experiments Method (DOE). With DOE it was found, that the amount of sand through the turbines and the blasting time have the greatest influence on the surface quality and surface roughness. With the use of optimal process parameters surface roughness was minimized and the surface quality was improved for maximum adhesion of silicone.
