Undergraduate thesis attempts to illuminate the actions that have taken place in Spain during 20th century and the position of women in this same era. This era of Spanish history has been characterized by contrasts of the state authority and the era of political ideologies. Forgotten women, waiting for their social status, have managed to move up the social ladder and get enough power, to demand their rights, which should have been, considering their actions and cooperations, already acknowledged. Spanish women no longer wanted to stay in the shadows of their men, which was proved by Clara Campoamor who achieved female suffrage. Soon, because of giving liberties, the Republic received a counterstrike, which indicated that the Spanish nation was not prepared to accept the new European reality. This is why Spain, after civil war, awoke its tradicional posture giving women a different role; they were educated to become the Angels of home. Despite all arising feminism of the Republic did not perish, the ideas and wishes for freedom remained the same.
