Abstract
Spolno nadlegovanje doživljajo s strani vodij, sodelavcev/sodelavk, potnikov/potnic in strank. Stranke so tiste, ki najpogosteje nadlegujejo gostinske delavke.

Title:Sexual harassment of female restaurant workers
Abstract:
The master’s thesis investigates the incidence of sexual harassment of female restaurant workers. The purpose of the master’s thesis is to find out the incidence of sexual harassment among female restaurant workers; where sexual harassment occurs; whether restaurant workers perceive sexual harassment as part of the job or not; what type of sexual harassment is most common among restaurant workers; which people are committing sexual harassment; and what kind of management support the workers receive. The theoretical part defines the key concepts regarding the subject of the research, which represent the theoretical framework for the empirical part of the master’s thesis. The survey consists of 141 questionnaires which represent a source of information for the empirical part of the master’s thesis. The results of the research have shown that sexual harassment of restaurant workers is a major problem, experienced by almost all the surveyed women in all forms, of which the most common form is verbal sexual harassment. Most restaurant workers do not perceive sexual harassment as part of the job, but are accustomed to it and tolerate it, which is why they do not report it to the competent authorities. They experience sexual harassment from managers, co-workers, salesmen/saleswomen and customers. The customers are the ones who most often harass restaurant workers. The majority of sexual harassment takes place in bars specializing in serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Female workers respond differently to sexual harassment; a response that stops milder forms of sexual harassment is giving a clear explanation that sexual harassment is unacceptable. Restaurant workers want sexual harassment to be socially unacceptable and to receive greater support from the management, since half of the managers do not care about sexual harassment or feel that sexual harassment is part of the profession. Sexual harassment affects the career paths of women, as some women change jobs or think about changing them because of sexual harassment.
