Mladostnikovo doživljanje prehoda iz osnovne v srednjo šolo

Abstract
V magistrskem delu sem se osredotočila na raziskovanje prehoda iz osnovne v srednjo šolo. Zanimal me je tako vidik mladostnikov kot tudi vidik svetovalnih delavcev. Najprej sem v teoretičnem delu predstavila pojem mladostništva in z njim povezan pojem adolescence in odraščanja. V nadaljevanju sem opisala pomembna področja mladostnikovega življenja in izzive, med katere vsekakor spada tudi prehod iz osnovne v srednjo šolo. Vključila sem pomen vloge svetovalnih delavcev na šolah in opisala načine, ki omogočajo uspešno sodelovanje med mladostnikom, starši in strokovnimi delavci na šoli. V empiričnem delu pa sem predstavila ugotovitve, do katerih sem prišla s pomočjo intervjujev z mladostniki in svetovalnimi delavci. Raziskava, ki sem jo naredila v ta namen, je bila kvalitativna in empirična, v njej pa je v neslučajnostnem in priložnostnem vzorcu sodelovalo osem mladostnikov in štiri svetovalne delavke iz osnovnih in srednjih šol. Zanimalo me je, kako mladostniki doživljajo omenjen prehod in kaj bi potrebovali, da bi bil prehod v srednjo šolo manj stresen, pri svetovalnih delavkah na osnovnih in srednjih šolah pa sem želela pridobiti čim več uporabnih informacij o načinih podpore in pomoči, ki jih nudijo mladostnikom pri omenjenem prehodu. Prišla sem do spoznanja, da so mladostniki precej skromni in si ne želijo veliko – največ jim pomeni podpora družine in pa upoštevanje njihovega mnenja tako s strani staršev kot tudi s strani svetovalnih delavcev. Vsak posameznik je drugačen in z vsakim posebej bi morali svetovalni delavci raziskovati, kakšne so njegove želje in potrebe in kje jih je mogoče podpreti. Prehod iz osnovne v srednjo šolo je neizogiben, a tako starši kot strokovni delavci na šolah lahko mladostnikom z upoštevanjem njihovega mnenja, njihovih odločitev, podporo, spodbudnimi besedami in potrpežljivostjo, pomagajo, da le ta ni preveč naporen in se mladostnik z njim uspešno spopade. Zdi se mi zelo pomembno, da svetovalni delavci mladostnikov nikakor ne silijo v sprejemanje določenih odločitev, ampak z njimi raziskujejo, česa si resnično želijo in jih potem pri tem tudi podprejo. Mladostnikom je potrebno dati izkušnjo, da so slišani in jim zagotoviti varen prostor, kjer so lahko to, kar so. Vsa spoznanja, do katerih sem prišla s pomočjo raziskovanja, bom vsekakor uporabila pri svojem delu in upam, da bodo kaj doprinesla tudi svetovalnim delavcem, ki se že ukvarjajo z mladostniki pri prehodu iz osnovne v srednjo šolo.

Title:Experiences of adolescents in the transition from primary to high school
Abstract:
In my dissertation, I focused on researching the transition from primary to secondary school. I was interested to research the adolescent’s and the social worker’s aspect as well. In the theoretical part, I defined the concept of adolescence and growing up. I also described some important youth aspects, among which we can certainly include the transition from primary to secondary school. At the end of theoretical part, I presented the role of social workers in schools and describe the successful ways of cooperation between adolescents, parents and social workers. Forward, in the empirical part I presented the findings I came up with through interviews with adolescents and social workers. My research was qualitative and empirical. I have made interviews with eight adolescents and four social workers from primary and high school. With this research, I especially wanted to find out, how do the adolescents experience the transition from primary to secondary school and what would they needed that this transition would be less stressful for them. I also wanted to receive as much information as possible how do the social workers help and support the adolescents at the transition to secondary school. I found out, that the adolescents do not want much, they just want family to support them at the transition and the adults to respect their decisions and wishes. It is important to know that every single person is different and unique and need different kind of help. Social workers should find out how to help every individual. The transition from primary to high school is inevitable, but with support it can be really great experience for adolescents. Adults – parents, teachers, social workers, should help adolescents through this transition with respecting their decisions, supporting and encouraging them, being patient and nice. I think it is very important that the social workers do not force adolescents in specific decisions, but help them to explore what they really want and which high school would be the best for them. Social workers should give the adolescents the experience of being heard and respected. Definitely I will use these findings in my work as social worker and I really hope that my findings will also help some other social workers or teachers of whoever, who work with young people.
