Abstract
V diplomskem delu opisujem izolacijo različnih biološko pomembnih spojin iz naravnih virov in njihove nadaljnje pretvorbe. Uspešno sem izolirala naslednje snovi: nikotin iz tobaka (rod Nicotiana) in matricin iz kamilic (Chamomilla recutita) z ekstrakcijo ter kamazulen iz kamilic z destilacijo. Nikotin, pridobljen iz tobaka, sem uporabila za tvorbo koordinacijskih spojin z izbranimi kovinskimi ioni (Cu2+, Ni2+ in Co2+); matricin, pridobljen iz kamilic, pa sem pretvorila v kamazulen. Opisan je tudi neuspešen poskus izolacije kanabidiola in kanabidiolne kisline iz industrijske konoplje (Cannabis sativa L.). Izolirane snovi sem okarakterizirala s pomočjo 1H NMR spektroskopije in IR spektroskopije.

Title:An attempt at isolation of nicotine, matricin, chamazulene, cannabidiol and cannabidiolic acid from natural sources
Abstract:
This diploma thesis describes the isolation of different biologically important compounds from natural sources and their subsequent transformations. Successfully isolated compounds were: nicotine from tobacco (genus Nicotiana) by extraction, matricin from chamomile (Chamomilla recutita) by extraction and chamazulene from chamomile by distillation. Nicotine obtained from tobbaco was used to form complexes with selected metal ions (Cu2+, Ni2+ in Co2+) and matricin obtained from chamomile was further transformed into chamazulene. Diploma thesis also describes an unsuccessful attempt at the isolation of cannabidiol and cannabidiolic acid from hemp (Cannabis sativa L.). Isolated compounds were characterised using 1H NMR spectroscopy and IR spectroscopy.
