Abstract

Title:
The comic and tragicomic in Med Gorami by Ivan Tavčar and Kmetske slike by Janko Kersnik
Abstract:
In the Bachelor’s thesis The comic and tragicomic in Med Gorami by Ivan Tavčar and Kmetske slike by Janko Kersnik I am analysing different perspectives of subjects that are laughing. I am researching who is laughing to whom/what and why for. In the theoretical part I state the theory of comedy and tragicomedy and the processes which motivate the (tragi)comic. In the analytical part I analyse each »short story« (in terms of length; sln. slika) one by one; in the first part I write the summary and in the second I analyse comic and tragicomic situations. In the synthetic part I connect analyses of individual »short story«. I come to conclusion that the raconteur, characters and the reader are not laughing to (exactly) the same situations and I explain who is laughing to whom/what and why.
