Abstract
Namen diplomske naloge je bil raziskati in ugotoviti vzroke za razslojitev aplikatorskih tamponov z različno surovinsko sestavo (kratkovlaknati, dolgovlaknati in mešani bombažni tamponi). Primerjani so bili aplikatorski tamponi z enako specifikacijo in različno dolžino vlaken. V teoretičnem delu je predstavljeno področje higienski tamponov (delitev, zgradba, dimenzije in postopek izdelave). Eksperimentalni del obsega predstavitev laboratorijskih metod preizkušanja lastnosti higienskih tamponov. V poglavju rezultati z razpravo so podani rezultati meritev in njihov komentar. Na podlagi izvedenih meritev je bilo ugotovljeno, da imajo največjo povprečno dolžino bombažna vlakna Virgen (24,1 mm), bombažna vlakna Blend imajo povprečno dolžino 22,8 mm, dolžina vlaken bombažnega izčeska pa je 15 mm. Tamponi iz bombažnih vlaken Virgen so imeli maso 1,65 g, iz vlaken Blend 1,69 g in tamponi iz bombažnega izčeska 1,60 g. Srednja vrednost dolžine tamponov iz vlaken Virgen je bila 46,38 mm, iz vlaken Blend 46,45 mm in iz vlaken bombažnega izčeska 46,33 mm. Srednja vrednost premera tamponov iz vlaken Virgen je znašala 11,59 mm, iz vlaken Blend 11,43 mm in iz vlaken bombažnega izčeska 11,66 mm. Srednja vrednost stabilnosti tamponov iz vlaken Virgen je znašala 15,68 N in tamponov iz vlaken Blend 16,46 N (kar je v skladu z zahtevo min. 10 N). Stabilnost tamponov iz vlaken bombažnega izčeska je znašala 9,15 N (manj od zahtevane vrednosti). Srednja vrednost absorpcije tamponov iz vlaken Virgen je 7,23 g, tamponov iz vlaken Blend 7,27 g in tamponov iz bombažnega izčeska 6,76 g (vse vrednosti so v skaldu z zahtevo 6,00–9,00 g). Pri tamponih iz bombažnih vlaken Virgen je znašala srednja vrednost sile, ki je bila potrebna za razslojitev tampona 15,14 N, pri tamponih iz vlaken Blend 14,59 N in pri tamponih iz bombažnega izčeska 7,62 N. Na podlagi izvedenih meritev in analize le teh je bilo ugotovljeno, da ima dolžina bombažnih vlaken največji vpliv na razslojevanje tamponov. Tampon, ki je sestavljen iz krajših vlaken je manj kakovosten in bolj dovzeten za razslojevanje.

Title:Analysis of the hygienic tampons stratification
Abstract:
The purpose of the diploma thesis is to investigate and determine the causes of the unrevalling of hygienic tampons on the basis of analysis performed on tampons, made of three different raw materials. All samples are the same product – Applicator cotton/organic tampon with the same specification. Only difference between them is length of cotton fibres. The theoretical part covers the presentation of hygienic tampons in general (description, division, dimensions and technological procedure for the production). The experimental part includes all the performed laboratory methods for testing the quality of hygienic tampons. In the last part of diploma are presented results with discussion. With testing the length of the fibers, the following results were obtained: the average length of a cotton fibers Virgen is 24,1 mm. Cotton fibers Blend have a length of 22,8 mm, while the fibers Comber have a length of 15 mm. Tampons of Virgen fibers have a weight of 1,65 g. Tampons of Blend fibers have a weight average 1,69 g, and tampons of Comber fibers 1,60 g. The following results were obtained with methods for measuring the dimensions of tampons (diameter and length): a length of tampons Virgen measure 46,38 mm. Tampons Blend measures 46,45 mm and the avrage length of Tampons Comber measure 46,33 mm. Diameter of tampons Virgen measures 11,59 mm, and the diameter of tampons Blend is 11,43 mm. Tampons Comber have an average diameter of 11,66 mm. We obtained the following results with the laboratory method for testing stability of tampons: the average stability of tampons Virgen is 15,68 N. Tampons Blend have an average stability of 16,46 N. The measurements are in accordance with the requirements (min 10N). The mean value of stability of tampons Comber is 9,15 N and deviates from the required value. We also measured the absorption ability of tampons. Mean absorption values of tampons Virgen is 7,23 and is in accordance with the requirements (6,00-9,00 g). The mean absorption value of tampons Blend is 7,27 g. The mean value of absorption of tampons Comber is 6,76 g and is in accordance with the requirements. Important results were obtained by testing the force required for tampon stratification. The value of force needed for unrevalling of tampons Virgen measure 15,14 N. The force needed for unrevalling of tampons Blend is 14,59 N and the value of force needed for unrevalling of tampons Comber is 7,62 N. The lenght of fibers has the greatest influence on the tampons stratification. Results have shown that the force needed for tampons unrevalling, depends on the raw material of the tampon. Tampon consisted on short fibers, in more rapidly split.
