Abstract
Diplomska naloga obravnava medijsko večopravilnost med starejšimi. Prvi del predstavlja teoretični pregled literature, katerega namen so čim bolj natančne definicije pojavov večopravilnosti in medijske večopravilnost, predstavitev dejavnikov medijske večopravilnosti in njihova povezava z različnimi vidiki (socialnimi, psihološkimi, kognitivnimi ipd.) starosti in staranja. V empiričnem delu sledi sistematični pregled obstoječe literature, povezane z medijsko večopravilnostjo med starejšimi. Analiza sledi štirim raziskovalnim vprašanjem, ki skušajo celovito zajeti različne vidike odnosa med medijsko večopravilnostjo in starejšimi. Prispevki, ki so analizirani v empiričnem delu naloge, so bili pridobljeni s pomočjo iskalnika DiKUL in t. i. PRIZMA diagrama.

Title:Media multitasking among older people
Abstract:
The thesis deals with media multitasking among older people. The first part of the study represents an overview of theoretical literature – its aims are to define as precisely as possible the phenomena of multitasking and media multitasking, to present the factors of media multitasking and to link them to different aspects (social, psychological, cognitive, etc.) of ageing. The empirical part of the thesis includes a systematic review of the existing literature related to media multitasking among older people. The analysis follows four research questions which aim to include comprehensively different aspects of the relation between media multitasking and older people. The studies, analysed in the empirical part of the thesis, were obtained with DiKUL search engine and the PRISMA diagram. The eight papers, corresponding to all research criteria, confirm the findings of theoretical literature – the crucial influence of older age on media multitasking comes from limited cognitive abilities of older people. This influence is confirmed above all by answers to two research questions present in most papers, i.e. how is older age linked to media multitasking and what are the negative consequences of media multitasking on older people. The analysis shows that the research of media multitasking among older people is limited, despite of its relevance. The limitations of the systematic literature review include, above all, a limited number of papers on this topic and their heterogeneity (different definitions of older people, methodological diversity, varied samples and emphasis on Europe and USA).
