Abstract
Podatki so bili obdelani s programsko opremo SPSS 24.

Title:Physical and motor development of children participating in artistic gymnastics programs of sports club Narodni dom Ljubljana
Abstract:
The aim of the master's thesis was to determine the impact of regular artistic gymnastics training on physical and motor development of children. We aimed to establish whether there are differences in their development between children signed up in artistic gymnastics programs and general elementary school population. The sample included 33 children (16 of girls and 17 boys) of the sports club Narodni dom Ljubljana participating in the regular artistic gymnastics programs of the sports club. The average age of boys was 13.64 years while girls were on average 12.78 years old. The data were processed by SPSS 24 software. The basic statistical values were calculated to verify the differences in motor abilities between the general population and the children training in the regular artistic gymnastics programs. Differences in the motor abilities with respect to years of involvement in regular programs were verified by t-test for independent samples. The analysis showed that children training in the regular programs of the club did not progress faster than the primary school population in any of the motor tests, but on the other hand, as determined by the t-test for independent samples, their results were significantly much better in all motor tests. Boys, included in regular training exceeded the 92nd and girls the 82nd percentile of physical efficiency index. When comparing children who were practicing artistic gymnastics less than 3 years with those who practiced it more than 3 years, the latter performed significantly better in all motor tests, except in standing long jump. Due to the small number of children practicing less than 3 years, a case study was conducted which showed that children, who were not participating in any training programs in the pre-school period, recorded an accelerated motor efficiency index (IGU) after having joined the training programs, therefore, even the late inclusion in artistic gymnastics training programs produces exceptional effects.
