Abstract

Title:
Comic – motion – animation
Abstract:
Existent master's degree is a research about conection between comics and animation, based on motion. A comic and an animation are two different poles between which I am searching for affinities, derived from motion – what is motion in comic and how can we stretch it into a moving form? In theoretical part I am defining and comparing basic terms in the field of comics and animation which are essential for making both of them. My research problem will be input of a motion into a comic, therefore I am going to make an author animated movie as a final product of my master's degree. I am going to analyze its process through understanding differences and similarities. By including different authors from both artistic fields I am going to discuss a historical view while also look for the reasons for common perception about animated movies being mainly appropriate for children. Analysing my own art works and making interviews with professional animators will give my research a qualitative note in approach.
