This written thesis represents positive effects of experiential child learning. In my opinion, traditional teaching methods are still too often used. We talk and demonstrate a lot while children don't get enough opportunities to through exploring independently find the answers by themselves. In the theoretical part of this thesis I described what a game and toy are, experiential learning, technical correct handling and 2 used materials-paper and plastic. Through a questionnaire I gathered opinions of kindergarten teachers about children’s technically correct handling of toys and how they’re improving it with children at work. Pre-school children of kindergarten Vrtec Pod Gradom, who were included in the activity, proved, the effectiveness of the experiential learning. I was, in a group aged 5-6 and named Miške, with the help of 3D cardboard jigsaw, developing technically correct handling of toys. I divided the activity into 3 parts, with first being a self-written story, followed by experimental part and finished off with children playing with 3D cardboard jigsaw. I observed the children’s game trough a 1-month period and wrote down every important event that happened during that time. Due to newly acquired knowledge and technically correct handling, children were still able to use the toy even after the completed activity and are still using it. By writing this theises I would like to encourage kindergarten teachers, parents and other pedagogical workers to intervene in various teaching methods as often as possible and to enable the children to gain new knowledge and acquire skills through their own activity.
