In the master thesis part reconstruction of the feed axes of the horizontal drilling and milling machine from the beginning of the 1970s is presented. The machine was previously modified from the NC to the CNC machine, but the drive motor for the feed axes remained the same. As part of the work, it was necessary to understand the technological processes of drilling and milling, which together with the existing main spindle and the construction of the machine set the boundary limits of the new characteristics of the feed axes. In the scope of this modification new driving motors of feeding motions, the corresponding associated belt drives with toothed belts and additional component elements required by such a reconstruction were installed. The presented solutions allow for independent movements of the three feeders and one teaching axis. We also upgraded the rotational sensor of the set axis B to the digital rotary sensor connected to the control.
Thus, the machine is capable of machining workpieces in four axes, whereby it can perform shifts in the form of various curves in the space. The new characteristics of the feed axes are suitable for using the machine in tooling.
