The thesis provides an overview of the effect of green structural elements, such as roofs and facades, on the thermal response of a building. 10 structural assemblies have been analysed; 3 roofs, 2 walls, 3 green roofs and 2 green walls. The green structural assemblies were analysed 3 times, each with a varying degree of substrate humidity. The analysis included the effect greened structural assemblies have on: heat transmission, thermal capacity, phase shift and the temperature amplitude dampening factor. Also included is a comparison and an explanation of different analysis results.
