Slovenian picturebook (1917-2017)= Słoweńska książka obrazkowa (1917-2017)

The article presents development of picturebook in Slovenia between 1917 and 2017. The author notices that this kind of books was created in a multicultural context and that picturebook (in Slovene: slikanica) has antique roots. This paper contains also the presentation of the Slovenian scientific reflection on these books and their recent situation.
