Abstract

Title:ANALYISIS OF THE REPUBLIC OPINION ON ISLAM IN SLOVENIA
Abstract:
The thesis deals with the view of Slovenes on Islam and the position of the Islamic community as a religious minority in Slovenia. In this diploma I devoted myself to analyzing the public opinion of Slovenians on this subject. After the terrorist attack in New York in 2001, we are witnessing an increasing number of hate speech and a negative view of Islam, which is often equated with terrorism, and the actions of an individual reflect the entire religion. In Slovenia, the Islamic community has been present for so long, and has greatly accommodated the Slovene way of living, that intolerance towards members of Islamic religion is completely unnecessary. By quantitative research, I tried to determine whether Muslims were more discriminated than non-Muslims, and what opinion on Islamic religion in Slovenia predominates, positive or negative.
