Abstract
Namen diplomske naloge je predstaviti proces 3D-modeliranja in 3D-tiska vaze kot dekorativnega in funkcionalnega izdelka. V teoretičnem delu je najprej na kratko predstavljen 3D-tisk, opisane so tehnologije 3D-tiska in podrobneje tiste, ki so uporabljene pri eksperimentalnem delu. Opredeljene so njihove prednosti in omejitve. V teoretičnem delu sta predstavljena zgodovina 3D-tiska in tudi pregled zadnjih oblikovalskih dosežkov predvsem na področju modeliranja in tiska vaz kot končnih izdelkov. Opisani so programi oziroma programska oprema, ki se uporablja za modeliranje in za 3D-tisk. V praktičnem delu so predstavljeni procesi modeliranja vaze s kompleksno obliko z namenom, da se izkoristijo prednosti, ki jih prinaša 3D-tisk. Osredotočenost je predvsem na modeliranju oblike, ki jo je težko izdelati z drugimi vrstami tehnologij, kot so npr. odvzemalne tehnologije. V nadaljevanju je osredotočenost na pravilno pripravo modela za 3D-tisk glede na tehnologijo, ki je uporabljena pri delu. Za doseganje kakovostnega vizualnega učinka so uporabljeni različni materiali od klasičnih, najpogosteje uporabljenih filamentov, do kompozitnih, ki vključujejo npr. lesna vlakna.

Title:
Modeling, preparation and 3D-print of a vase
Abstract:
The goal of the graduation thesis is to present the process of 3D modeling and 3D print. The theoretical part covers a brief introduction of 3D-print; the technologies of 3D print used in the experimental part are described more into detail. Their advantages and limitations were determined. The theoretical part covers the history of 3D-print and also the examination of the latest design achievements, above all on the field of modeling and print of vases as final products. The thesis also introduces software used for modeling and 3D-print and the ones used for this thesis. The practical part introduces modeling processes for different kinds of vases with complex shapes intended to utilize the advantages of 3D- print. The focus is above all on the modeling of organic shapes which are difficult to produce with other kinds of technologies such as technologies which take away material. The following part focuses on the correct preparation of the model for 3D-print according to the technology used for the process. Different materials are used for achieving the visual quality - from classical, mostly filaments, to composite which for instance include wood fibers.
